Job description

El Pueblo Mexican Food is looking for energetic cashiers that want to provide excellent customer service. Cashiers will be responsible for customer service, cash handling, proper food handling, ensuring the order is placed correctly and delivered quickly, cleaning, restocking of supplies, and more.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to all patrons
• Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
• Adhere to proper food handling guidelines and hygiene standards
• Ensure that customer orders are taken accurately and placed correctly
• Work to ensure timely delivery of orders to customers
• Maintain a clean and organized cashier station
• Restock necessary supplies such as napkins, straws, and utensils
• Collaborate with kitchen and waitstaff to ensure seamless order fulfillment
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and requests in a polite and professional manner
• Accurately handle credit card transactions and other forms of payment
• Follow all company policies and procedures
• Participate in training and meetings as required
• Handle any additional tasks as assigned by management

• Knowledge of proper food handling and hygiene standards
• Attention to detail in order taking and order placement
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math skills for calculating totals and making change
• Capability to work well within a team and collaborate with other staff
• Organizational skills to keep the cashier station and dining area tidy
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Positive attitude and friendly demeanor towards customers and colleagues
• Previous cashier or customer service experience is a plus
• Familiarity with using point-of-sale (POS) systems is advantageous
• Adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift light objects

Pay:

$22.85/hour ($16.85/hr + avg $6/hr in tips)
